September/October 2008 Hello Everyone, Yes, I am among the living. I have just completed our two-year accreditation review. There was so much good news to report. For those who haven't been to the school since we began in September I will give you a brief rundown of all that has happened and is happening. St. Mark School received a Future of Hope grant back in the spring. The money was used to purchase 20 new HP computers. They arrived during the summer and they have been distributed to all of the classrooms. Thank you to Terry Shaker and Matt Collins for getting them up and running. A former parent at St. Mark School left us a substantial amount of money when she and her family moved to Texas. Judi Gladden's husband Brian accepted a position as CFO of Dell Corporation. Before they moved, Judi left the school money to refurbish the computer lab. The lab was painted and carpeted and 20 new Dell computers have been installed. Mr. Rogge is working very hard to purchase the proper software for use with all of our classes. Computer classes should resume the week of September 29.Thank you to Judi and Brian for their generous contribution. A second Pre-School class was started this week. Mrs. Debra King is the teacher. That room was also painted and carpeted. Thank you to Mr. Tod Walchenbach for painting the room for us. Thank you to: Mr. David Hayes, McKenzie's dad, for his contribution of a new flat screen televison and combination DVD/VCR. We will put them to good use. Thank you to Mr. Randy Porter and toall of the parents for a great barbecue night. In spite of the weather everyone had a super time. Monday, September 29, 2008 There is no school for students.
